One of the many attempts to resuscitate the Terminator franchise ended up with the oddly named Genisys in 2015. I got what they were trying to do, but it just wasn’t executed very well and made you sorely miss the actors from the original film. While in New Orleans, i visited a few locations.
They alley scene was shot across from 114 Baronne Street in New Orleans.
This was shot at the corner of South Villere and Canal Streets in New Orleans.
This was shot near the corner of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard in New Orleans.
The chase scene continues on the 600 and 500 block of Market Street in New Orleans.
This is the Market Street Power Plant located at 1601 South Peters Street in New Orleans.
As I’m somewhat of a completist, this driving scene was shot with the McDonald’s in the background at 8319 West Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette, Louisiana. This is near the spot they set up stages to do interiors.
This was shot at the corner of Hendee Street and De Gaulle Drive i New Orleans.
The hospital exteriors were shot at 2020 Gravier Street in New Orleans.
They did occasionally use some establishing shots in Los Angeles, including the Sixth Street Bridge, now demolished.
I’m not sure if they shot any actual footage at the Griffith Observatory or was all CGI.
This was shot at the corner of 19th and De Haro Streets. I didn’t visit this location so just used some Google streetviews for reference.
