I had been waiting to update my Sneakers filming locations page until the 30th anniversary on September 11, 2022, but decided to do it now in honor of Sidney Poitier who passed away today.
The flashback scene was shot at courthouse square at Universal Studios. There is a façade in front of the original courthouse, but you can go inside and see parts of the original structure.
This was shot at the Bank of California on the corner of California and Sansome Streets in San Francisco.
Their headquarters was shot at the Fox Theatre at 1807 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, California.
The handoff was shot at Hills Plaza at 345 Spear Street in San Francisco.
This was shot at the 2nd Street Tunnel in Los Angeles.
The drop off scene was shot near the iconic, winding Lombard Street in San Francisco.
PlayTronics exterior was shot at 400 National Way in Simi Valley, California. Luckily I was able to visit before major construction happened with the building, thanks to the reader, see in the comments below.
I’ve been fortunate enough to go to the Sundance Film Festival many times and even saw Robert Redford during a few visits!
