Copycat has continued to be one of my favorite films that I rewatch every couple of years. Sigourney Weaver is at her best here as well as Holly Hunter, Dermot Mulroney, and Will Patton. I visited these locations almost a decade ago, but finally decided to publish them while I had a free morning.
The opening shot was filmed at the College of San Mateo Library, located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard Building 9 in San Mateo, California.
The jogger scene was shot at Alta Plaza Park, located at Jackson and Steiner Streets in San Francisco. Obviously the park has changed, but a few buildings can still be recognized in the background.
This murder scene was shot at 196 Connecticut Street in San Francisco.
They get out of the car at the corner of Mariposa and Connecticut Streets.
I caught a nice clear day for these shots at Twin Peaks, located at 1 Christmas Tree Point Road in San Francisco.
Here is my lazy drive-by shot of the Sound Factory, located at 525 Harrison Street in San Francisco.
Helen’s fabulous loft was built in front of the Fort Mason Center, located at 2 Marina Boulevard in San Francisco.
The ending was a reshoot and took place on top of the USC Library at 3518 Trousdale in Los Angeles. Obviously I did not get on the roof, but here is a shot I took for Deadly Friend for some reference.
