Duel (1971)

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Duel. Initially broadcast as an ABC Movie of the Week and represents Speilberg’s first full-length feature film. I went to these locations several years, so was doing my best to remember where all these spots were!

The film begins at this house located at 10414 Bloomfield Street in Toluca Lake in Los Angeles.

This is the 110 freeway to the east of Dodger Stadium and can be easily accessed by taking the Hill Street entrance by Chinatown.

The laundromat was located at 3620 Smith Avenue in Acton, California.

The cafe is located at 12625 Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita, California.

The bus scene was shot around 11540 Soledad Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, California.

The railroad scene was shot at the corner of Crown Valley Road and Thousand Trails Road in Acton, California.

Sally’s Snakerama Station was at 9661 Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita, California. Thankfully, no snakes on my visit….
