Samurai Cop (1991)

Today marks the anniversary of SAMURAI COP, released on this day in 1991. I first became aware of this film through RedLetterMedia’s Half In the Bag episode on the film. It’s definitely a so bad it’s good and definitely worth a watch for D-movie lovers. A few years ago I visited several of the film locations. I’ll be honest, I can’t remember the (barely existent) plot, so I will mostly highlight the location addresses.

This is on the corner of Gin Ling and Mei Ling in Chinatown in Los Angeles.

The police station is at 251 E 6th Street in Downtown Los Angeles.

This corner at 2nd Street and Los Angeles Street has changed a lot.

This is near the Cabrillo Beach boat ramp.

This is a dock right next to Cabrillo Beach.

This is near 425 S Palos Verdes Street in San Pedro, California.

This is at Berth 73 in San Pedro.

This is the corner of Parkman Avenue and Reno Street.

The chase continues on the 300 North block of Reno Street.

This is the 100 North block on Hoover Street in Los Angeles.

This is the 100 North block on Dillon Street in Los Angeles.

This was shot near 11650 Esther Street in Lynwood, California.

The desert chase begins near 11141 Osborne Street in Sylmar, California.

The chase continues to 13608 N Little Tujunga Canyon Road.

The first shot of the hospital is at 3430 Council Street in Los Angeles.

The “interior” of the hospital was shot at 7791 W Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.

The second exterior of the hospital is a building no longer there but was near 8780 Shoreham Drive in West Hollywood.

This church is at 505 N Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills.

This was shot in front of 1403 Park Way in Beverly Hills.

Joe’s house is at 23010 Ardwick Street in Woodland Hills, California.

The final house was shot at 29738 Cuthbert Road in Malibu, California.
