As today is Father’s Day, I thought now would be as good as time as any to finally getting around to doing a proper Stepfather 2 page.
The psychiatric hospital exterior was the Langham Huntington Hotel at 1401 South Oak Knoll Avenue in Pasadena, California. I stayed there a few years ago and it’s a beautiful hotel. It was also featured in You Again.
Now I’m not too sure about this next location which is the parking lot at the train station. Although the director’s commentary indicates it is at the hotel, there are no long parking lots that exist there. However, there is a very similar lot next to the train depot at the Los Angeles Arboretum:
The entrance to the new neighborhood is located at March Avenue and Ingomar Street in West Hills, California.
Gene’s house is located at 6809 Castle Peak Drive in West Hills, California.
Across the street is Carol’s house at 6800 Castle Peak Drive.
Later in the film he walks by his neighbor’s house at 6815 Castle Peak Drive.
This is shot just a little ways up the street from the houses.

Years ago, I had a tough time tracking down Matty’s house. Thankfully, actress Caroline Williams had her original script and call sheets! As usual, “all roads lead to Burbank” and the house is at 318 North Myers Street in Burbank, California.

The exterior for the funeral was shot at 132 N Euclid Avenue in Pasadena, California.
The motel was shot at 21603 Devonshire Street in Chatsworth, California.
The church exterior and some interiors were shot at 14115 Magnolia Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, California. Although I had been to this spot before, I revisited the location in 2022 and was fortunate enough to get inside pictures this time.
These are on the side of the church. Right next to this spot is the small chapel where Jim and Pam got married in The Office.

Other interiors were shot at the Pickwick Gardens locate at 1001 W Riverside Drive in Burbank, California. This is the hallway used, although they set up a false wall at the end.
I wasn’t able to get these screen-matched very well, but this is the ballroom used for the reception area.
