Today marks the 35th anniversary for the release of Adventures In Babysitting. A great little film that’s always worth a rewatch, however I would not recommend viewing the content-editing tragedy of the Disney+ version…. “Don’t fool with the babysitter!” While it’s supposed to take place in Chicago, with the exception of a few establishing shots, it was filmed mostly in Toronto. These shots were taken seven years ago during a visit.
First up is Chris Parker’s house, which has undergone quite a bit of renovations. It is located at 51 Donwoods Drive in North York, Ontario.
The Anderson’s house is at 4 Valleyanna Drive in North York, Ontario.
The chop shop alley is behind 8 Pardee Avenue in Toronto. This spot has been used in many films including The Fly and Police Academy.
The Silver Dollar Room is located at 486 Spadina Avenue in Toronto. (The interior was shot at a different location at 6615 Roosevelt Road.) Since my visit, the building was rebuilt, but looks like they brought back the sign.
The frat house is located at 157 Saint George Street in Toronto.
The undergrown tunnel to the garage is at North La Salle Drive and West Kinzie Street in Chicago.
Too late for this location, but the restaurant was located on Wellesley Street side of the building at 955 Bay Street in Toronto.
Thanks to fan, Matthew Eberle, for locating this location. This is the Chicago Stock Exchange on Congress Drive in Chicago. The area above is a matte painting, of course.
