National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)

Happy anniversary to National Lampoon’s Vacation, released July 29, 1983. I’ve been to just a couple locations over the years…

The family home is at 2310 North Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles, California.

A few establishing shots of Chicago….

St. Louis was filmed on the backlot of Warner Bros. Studios. This scene was shot on Brownstone Street.

The hotel is right around the corner on the Warner Bros. backlot.

Hennessy Street at Warner Bros. was used for the next scene. This street was used in Annie, and this particular corner was used in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure and You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.

Next we move over to the Warner Bros. Ranch. Some parts of this have changed quite a bit over the years. To the right is the Friends fountain. (Right around the corner is the Griswold house from Christmas Vacation.)

The station wagon drives in between these two houses. In the last shot, you can see part of the Bewitched houses in the background.

This part of Warner Bros. no longer exists, but I did get this one picture from one of my earlier visits.
