Although technically this is a 2007 film, it wasn’t widely released until September 2009. I first saw it in January 2008 at the Slamdance Film Festival. I admittedly was pretty jarred by the movie, mostly because it was a midnight showing and I was a little sleep-deprived. The ending in the version I saw was different and more effective than the theatrical release, but who knew that it would start a whole new franchise.
Shot entirely in one setting, the house is located at 13236 Bavarian Drive in San Diego, California. They don’t show the front of the house in the movie, but here it is!
