Today marks the 25th anniversary of THE NET, starring Sandra Bullock. Hot off the success of SPEED, this is probably Sandra at her best, but not her best movie. I always kind of thought this was hokey, but rewatching it this week, it has actually fared better with time and predicted how dangerous identity theft can be. Alright, on to a few locations I’ve visited over the years….
The movie opens in Washington D.C.
In the movie, her address is listed as “407 Finley Avenue” but in reality it is at 407 28th Avenue in Venice, California. I first visited this location in 2011, well before someone else “found” it. ;-)
Behind the house is the area where she is chased.
Pasadena City Hall stands in for the US Embassy.
The often-filmed carousel at the Santa Monica Pier….
I happened to have shots of this in my catalog from INNERSPACE, the building in the background is at 1 Montgomery Street in San Francisco, California.
The scene where Angela visits her mother was shot at the Archer School for Girls at 11725 Sunset Boulevard. I haven’t been there but found this picture of the courtyard with the fountain.
Never met her, but did see her one year that I attended the red carpet at the Oscars….
