I’ve been to several locations for The Terminator over the years, but just now getting to getting around to posting them for some reason. Some of these shots were taken over a decade ago before I really got into screen-matching, so could be better, I know!
The opening scene was shot at Griffith Observatory, 2800 East Observatory Road in Los Angeles. Some of the areas have been greatly renovated since filming. The last picture in the set was taken during my visit in 1988.
The restaurant exterior is located at 815 South Fremont Avenue in South Pasadena, California.
The Terminator pulls up here to look for Sarah in a phone book (google it, kids). This is a double location as he pulls up at 14329 Victory Boulevard in Los Angeles….
…which is the location for the gun store.
The “wrong” Sarah Connor house was located at 14239 Gilmore Street in Los Angeles. You can now see it’s long gone, but the houses in the reverse shot are the same.
The exterior for TechNoir was located at 720 South Hill Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
The exterior for Sarah’s apartment is located at 420 South La Fayette Parke Place in Los Angeles.
Here are some miscellaneous shots in Downtown Los Angeles including the Lower South Grand Avenue and 2nd Street Tunnel
The sketchy tiki Motel was located at 7301 Santa Fe Avenue in Huntington Park, California. It has since undergone renovation is now apartments.
The Cyberdine exterior is at 555 Ramirez Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
The gas station has also undergone major renovation and is located at 37202 90th Street East in Littlerock, California. The final shot is a matte painting, but the last picture shows what the road looks like in real life.
A deleted scene was shot at the same spot used in Friday the 13th Part 3. It was located at 34813 Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, but no longer exists.
Paul @ Halloween Filming Locations tracked down the police exterior location to a building at the Bethlehem Steel Plant in Vernon, which of course has been razed.
